Destiel is up for Ship of the Year in the MTVu Fandom Awards! Voting ends this Wednesday July 23rd and we’ve got some heavy, heavy competition that Dean & Cas are up against, so….. 

WE’RE HAVING A DESTIEL VOTING PARTY ON TWITTER TONIGHT! 

We would love to have as many of you as possible to join in the fun! We’ll kick things off around 5pm CST and try to go to 9pm CST TONIGHT (July 21st, 2014), but please just join in whenever you can and vote as much as you can. (Not in CST zone, check when it’ll be in your own time zone here) 

So let’s try to get lots and lots of votes during this voting party today and also use a special tag to celebrate and have fun together on Twitter as we vote. Here’s what to do: 

Just go here and vote for Dean/Castiel as Ship of the Year, then click that little link to tweet your vote, but use your own wording for the first part of the tweet and be sure to include our special event hashtag #VoteDestiel 

Example of standard tweet for voting: “I voted for Dean and Castiel of @cw_spn for Ship of the Year at the 2014 @mtvU #fandomawards http://www.mtv.com/shows/mtvu_fandom_awards/2014/ship-of-the-year/?xrs=fandom14-vote_tw2 “

Example of modified party tweet for voting: “For it is the jolliest ship to ever sail the open seas with the best pirate crew a mate could wish for! #VoteDestiel http://www.mtv.com/shows/mtvu_fandom_awards/2014/ship-of-the-year/?xrs=fandom14-vote_tw2”

Be sure to include the hashtag (#VoteDestiel) as we’ll use that to help count up how many votes we manage to do and include the link so that anyone that sees your tweets will be able to use it and go vote too if they want to! 

Remember that tweets don’t actually count as votes…the tweeting is just for fun and camaraderie. You have to click the vote button on the MTV site to vote! Count your votes, use quotations with your tweets, talk about how much you love Destiel and why it is your ship of the year…just vote as much as you can and have fun knowing that you’re voting with other Destiel shippers at the same time! 

We may even get our hashtag trending! Let’s come together, enjoy each other’s company, and vote, vote, vote for Destiel as the Ship of the Year!
